Chelsea could be set to scupper Tottenham’s move for Anzhi Makhachkala winger Willian by making their own move for the Brazilian, Sky Sports reports.

Reports suggest that Chelsea are in advanced talks with Anzhi about signing the winger, who is available for a transfer due to the Russian clubs financial problems.

Tottenham held talks with Willian earlier on Thursday, with the North London club looking to complete the signing of the Brazilian for £30 million.

Reports suggest that Willian had passed a medical with Spurs and was in the process of agreeing personal terms with them.

However, Chelsea look set to complicate matters after making their move to sign the Brazilian on Thursday.

It is thought that Willian hasn’t agreed anything with Spurs yet and could decide to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, with the possibility of playing Champions League football at Chelsea being a tempting one.

Liverpool were originally favourites to sign Willian, with the player stating that he would be interested in a move to Anfield.

However, the Reds appear to have dropped out of the race and it now seems that Tottenham and Chelsea will fight over the 25 year old signature.
