Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has said that his old side are now in a much better position to consistently qualify for Champions League football and mount a serious title challenge than rivals Arsenal, talkSPORT reports.

Now at QPR, Redknapp has said that he is impressed at the recruitment drive undertaken by the White Heart Lane outfit this summer and has backed the side to be contenders for the Premier League title this season.

“Spurs have bought some fantastic players in. Go through the squad and they are full of quality.

“They’ve got the French international goalkeeper, England’s right-back, Vertonghen is as good as anybody, Dawson’s quality, Kaboul is back.

“And look at their midfield… Capoue, Paulinho, Dembele, they all have fantastic ability. It’s an amazing squad they’ve put together.

“I wouldn’t compare the two squads [Spurs and Arsenal now]. Tottenham are much stronger, no doubt.

“There’s no reason they can’t challenge to win the league. They can be bang there. They’ll finish top four and who knows where they could finish after that?”

Redknapp has undertaken an extensive recruitment drive himself, bringing in five new players of his own, but with relegation they have seen an inevitable clearance of some of their more high profile stars.
