Ljajic only has one year remaining on his contract with Fiorentina and could leave for free next summer if he isn’t sold during this summers transfer window.
Liverpool have given up in their attempt to sign Anzhi Makhachkala winger Willian and have now moved their attentions to Fiorentina’s want away midfielder, Adem Ljajic, the Daily Star reports.
Ljajic could leave for free next summer as he only has one year remaining on his current contract with Fiorentina.
The Italian club desperately want the 21 year old to sign a new deal but so far, the midfielder has been reluctant to commit his future to the club.
This means that there is a strong possibility that Fiorentina could sell Ljajic this summer so that they can at least make some money from his sale.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham are now considering making a move for the youngster and Fiorentina’s president, Andrea Della Valle seems to have accepted that Ljajic will be leaving the club.
“It’ difficult to see Ljajic staying with us”.
“Personally I would like to keep him, of course, but one has to understand the player’s intentions and the atmosphere,” he added.
Both Tottenham and Liverpool are keen to add to their squad before the transfer window closes on September 2nd and with Ljajic being available for just £7.5 million, a bid from the two English clubs seems likely.
