Arsenal are to make an offer of £25.8m for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria according to the Metro.
The Argentine winger may well see his first team opportunities limited if as expected Gareth Bale moves to the Bernabeu and Arsene Wenger is keen to make the most of that situation by launching a club record bid for the impressive wide-man.
The 25 year old is into his fourth season at Real Madrid and has been a consistent source of assists, collecting 53 of them in his 138 appearances for the Spanish giants, as well as scoring 25 goals in the process.
Arsenal are keen to strengthen their attack though one would imagine that Wenger would be more urgently seeking a striker than another creative wide option, not least as the Gunners boss uses Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott in this manner.
