Crystal Palace have reportedly held talks over another signing from Arsenal, this time for Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner, the Daily Mirror claims.

The newly-promoted side have already brought in Moroccan forward Marouane Chamakh from the Gunners this summer, as they look to strengthen their side for the fight against relegation in the Premier League this season.

Ian Holloway’s side qualified via the Championship playoffs last season, and have had a tough start to life in the top flight with two defeats in their first two games.

New signing Chamakh got on the score sheet in the 2-1 loss at Stoke, and he could soon be reunited with Bendtner after it emerged that Palace had held talks with the 25-year-old in London on Sunday.

The controversial striker, who has often talked up his own potential in the past, has not lived up to his own hype in recent seasons, with disappointing loan campaigns at Sunderland and Juventus, and a seeming lack of clubs willing to sign him permanently from Arsenal, who do not see him as part of their first-team plans.

There may be difficulties in meeting Bendtner’s wage demands, but Palace are keen to add another striker after missing out on Darren Bent to Fulham.
