A number of sources have suggested that former Arsenal man Mathieu Flamini has agreed a deal to return to the North London club.

ITV.com believe that the French international has sufficiently impressed Arsene Wenger to win himself a contract, having become a free agent since his AC Milan deal ran out earlier this summer.

An alternative report states that the 29 year old has earned himself a two year deal worth £3.2m per season, a move that Arsenal may have felt they could afford to offer given that the battling midfielder has cost the Gunners nothing.

Lady Arse claim that Flamini had been offered a one year extension to his deal by his San Siro employers but wasn’t happy with the terms and hence elected to train with Arsenal in order to prove his fitness in the hope of winning a contract with the club he controversially left back in May 2008.

Flamini made 153 appearances for Arsenal before moving to AC Milan and could be seen by Wenger as an ideal addition to his squad, providing some much needed steel and experience to help balance out the youth and creativity in his squad.
