Cardiff City Boss Malky Mackay Eyes One More Signing

Welsh side hope to bring in one more new face.Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has said that he hopes to be able to bring in one more new face to the club before the transfer window slams shut on September 2nd, Sky Sports reports.

The Bluebirds have already spent heavily this summer but know that it will take more to ensure they hang on to their Premier League status.

Three of their additions have broken the club’s transfer record, with Steven Caulker, Gary Medel and Andreas Cornelius demanding hefty fees to join up with the club.

However, there is still money available for the manager to spend in the remaining days of the transfer window for Mackay to make some final adjustments to his squad.

Mackay has admitted that he intends to dip back into the transfer market before deadline day, but has confessed that it is unlikely he make more than just one addition.

He said in the Daily Telegraph: “We’re trying hard and we’re going to make sure we do everything we can right up to Monday.

“We would like to at least get one more in, but it’s not easy because they have to be players that bring more quality, rather than the quantity of bringing three or four people in the last week and just filling up a squad.”
