There is still everything to play for in this second leg encounter as last week’s encounter ended in a 1-1 draw. Stephan El Shaarawy’s first-half effort gave Milan the crucial away goal, but a Tim Matavz equaliser made sure that the Dutch side still remain in sight.
Milan will be looking to take advantage of their away goal as well as bouncing back from the weekend’s shock opening day defeat to newly promoted side Hellas Verona. Veteran striker Luca Toni hitting twice to cancel out recent signing Andrea Poli’s opener.
Coach Massimo Allegri has injury concerns over Giampaolo Pazzini and centre-back Daniele Bonera, who are both missing with knee problems, while midfielder Nigel de Jong also remains a doubt.
PSV will also be looking to avoid a disappointing league hangover from the weekend as they could only muster a 1-1 draw with lowly Heracles after Park Ji Sung’s 86th-minute equaliser rescued them a point.
Club coach Philip Cocu has no fresh injury worries ahead of the fixture, with Luciano Narsingh (knee) and Oscar Hiljemark (groin) likely to be the only absentees.
