Celtic will be looking to turn a two goal deficit around as they host Kazakh side Shakhter Karagandy at Parkhead.
The former Soviet minnows proved they were worth a shock victory last week as they took the game to the SPL Champions, leaving them with a mountain to climb in the second leg.
Midfielder Biram Kayal will be missing, though, after being substituted during the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
And he may be joined on the sidelines with the likes of Kris Commons, James Forrest, Derk Boerrigter and Anthony Stokes, who have all been doubts for the second leg. However, Greek international striker Georgios Samaras has said that he expects to be fit.
Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, who was stuck with a hamstring strain during the match against Inverness, is expected to be fit for Wednesday’s tie.
Celtic will have much to do despite their injury worries, but Shakhter coach Viktor Kumykov told BBC Scotland on his arrival in Glasgow that he still rated the Scottish champions as favourites for the tie.
