Chelsea are set to splash out £45 million on three new players as the summer transfer window draws to a close, reports the Daily Express.

The west London club finally completed the £32m capture of Anzhi Makhachkala playmaker Willian on Wednesday night, after the 25-year-old was successfully granted a work permit in his hearing with the Home Office in London.

And the occasional Brazil international will now be joined at Stamford Bridge by two more new recruits, Willian’s team-mate from Anzhi, front man Samuel Eto’o, and exciting young FC Porto wide man Christian Atsu.

Veteran Cameroon international Eto’o will be joining the Blues on an initial one-year deal that will cost the club in total £10m, a one-off £4m transfer fee, with the 32-year-old also pocketing £6m in wages for the season.

Eto’o, who Chelsea moved for after finally giving up hope of landing unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, turned down a more lucrative offer to re-join his former club Inter Milan in order to be reunited with Blues boss Jose Mourinho again, after the pair worked together at San Siro between 2009 and 2010.

Meanwhile, Mourinho is also expected to tie up the £3.5m capture of Ghana international Atsu on Thursday, although the 21-year-old will be immediately loaned back to the Portuguese champions for this season in order to gain valuable game time.

And in total, that takes the ‘Special One’s’ total spending since he returned to the Bridge this summer to a whopping £64m on six new signings.
