Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts
Joey Barton has revealed that he recently rejected the chance to move to Crystal Palace, Goal.com reports.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from QPR this summer as he doesn’t want to play for a Championship club, despite starting all four of the Hoops fixtures this season.

Crystal Palace are just the latest team to be linked with the former Manchester City midfielder but when asked about a move to Selhurst Park on Twitter, Barton revealed that he has already turned down an opportunity to join the Eagles.

“They tried but it’s not the right move for me and my family right now. Hope they stay up as I like [manager Ian] Holloway,” said the 30 year old.

Barton is the latest player to turn down the opportunity to move to Crystal Palace, with Eagles manager Ian Holloway desperate to try and strengthen his side before the transfer window closes.

Barton spent last season on loan at Marseille and has been linked with a permanent move back to the French club this summer, while the midfielder has stated his desire to play for Everton, who he supported as a child.
