Arsenal are facing a transfer crisis this summer and fear that their manager, Arsene Wenger, won’t spend any of the £70 million that he was handed at the start of the summer, the Daily Mirror reports.

So far, Wenger has landed Yaya Sanago and Mathieu Flamini on free transfers but has failed to land a real big name signing despite the amount of quality players that have been available this summer.

Wenger is desperately trying to sign some quality players before the transfer window closes and has his eyes on Real Madrid pair Mesurt Ozil and Angel Di Maria.

However, both players have said that they aren’t interested in leaving Real Madrid, meaning Arsenal face the real prospect of not signing anyone of note this summer.

The current debacle is frustrating Arsenal’s fans as well the club’s directors, who boasted at the start of the summer that the Gunners had £70 million to spend on new signings.

This is also set against the backdrop of a mini injury crisis that is facing Wenger just a couple of weeks into the new season.

The Frenchman will be without Lukas Podolski, Mikel Arteta, Thomas Vermaelen and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlan for the foreseeable future, making it imperative that the Gunners do some serious business before the transfer window closes.
