Celtic are reportedly interested in Man United left-back Alexander Buttner as Neil Lennon looks to add more quality to his Parkhead side according to Sky Sports.
The 24 year old Dutch full-back was brought in last summer to provide competition to Patrice Evra’s spot but recent talk of interest in Leighton Baines is perhaps evidence that the former Vitesse Arnhem man has not impressed enough to be considered a viable successor to the experienced French international.
Buttner may well be keen on a move to Celtic, with the SPL title holders looking to bring in the defender on a loan deal which would hand the attack minded player the chance to gain regular first team football which could in turn assist his chances of securing a first senior Dutch national team cap.
Celtic have booked their place in the Champions League group stages and that could well be the icing on the cake of any potential interest Buttner may have in moving to Parkhead.
Buttner has made just four Premier League starts last term, though did manage to score twice in that period.
