Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho keen to improve attack.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to bring in a striker signing before the transfer window closes tomorrow night according to the Daily Mail.

Mourinho is not all that impressed with his current attacking options, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku, and will look to sign a fresh striking option to help in his side’s pursuit of major honours.

Samuel Eto’o was brought in to offer support and has targeted Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski having seemingly given up on Man United striker Wayne Rooney after two unsuccessful bids for the England man.

Chelsea have netted four goals in three Premier League matches thus far this season and none of those have come from recognised strikers, perhaps emphasizing the need for further signings this summer.

A move for Lewandowski is perhaps the more likely of the two strikers named, chiefly as the Polish international is into the final year of his Dortmund contract and the Bundesliga side would perhaps prefer to sell to a Premier League side than lose the forward to domestic rivals Bayern Munich on a free transfer next summer.
