Liverpool are close to finalising a deal to sign Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea, with a £1million loan fee being agreed between the two clubs, according to BBC Sport.

The Nigerian winger has failed to establish himself as a regular at Stamford Bridge since signing from Wigan last summer, and looks to have fallen even further down the pecking order at the club now, following the arrivals of the likes of Willian and Andre Schurrle.

Liverpool have been keen to add new attacking players for much of the summer, missing out on the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Christian Eriksen, though they will be pleased to have beaten off competition from the likes of Everton, Southampton and West Brom for the signing of Moses.

The 22-year-old becomes the second player to move between the clubs this year after Daniel Sturridge swapped Stamford Bridge for Anfield in January, and Moses will be hoping he can enjoy a similar boost in form from more regular playing time under Brendan Rodgers.

Moses only scored one Premier League goal last season, but had shown plenty of promise the previous year in his role to save former side Wigan from relegation.
