Gunners want misfiring Senegalese at the Emirates.
Arsenal have made a surprise inquiry about the availability of unwanted Chelsea front man Demba Ba, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The north London club are gearing themselves up for what should be a frenetic transfer deadline day at the Emirates, with head coach Arsene Wenger eyeing up a number of possible last-minute signings in order to strengthen the Gunners for the new season.
And one of those possible new arrivals in the capital could that be of the Blues’ giant Senegal international, who has so far endured a tough start to the new campaign at Stamford Bridge.
Ba, 28, only arrived in west London at the turn of the year, after joining the Uefa Europa League winners from Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
However, despite scoring some spectacular goals for his new team, Ba has generally struggled for form in front of goal in the capital, finding the back of the net on just six occasions in 23 matches in total in all competitions, while he has only scored two goals in the Premier League.
And with returning Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho having now signed striker Samuel Eto’o, it seems that Ba’s future with the Blues is in doubt, perhaps leading to a possible move across the city to Arsenal.
