Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Aston Villa are looking to make a deadline day move for Lazio striker Libor Kozak, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Manager Paul Lambert has reportedly been targeting the 24-year-old for some time after identifying him as the ideal man to further boost his creative options.

The 6’4 forward has been told that he is free to leave the Rome based club this summer if a suitable offer comes in for him and now Lambert is hoping to be able to wrap up a deal for him before the 11pm deadline.

Kozak was last season’s top scorer in the Europa League with 10 goals in 11 appearances, but failed to hit the net in Serie A at all in 18 attempts. His scoring record for the club leaves a lot to be desired too, with just 22 goals in 79 games since joining from Opava in his homeland back in 2008.

He spent a season on loan with Serie B side Brescia in 2009, but there he managed to find the net just four times in 30 games.

Villa made the majority of their transactions early on in the transfer window, and should Kozak join he will become the club’s seventh acquisition of the summer.
