Stamford Bridge side sign Ghanaian international.
Chelsea have officially confirmed the signing of FC Porto attacker Christian Atsu and immediately loaned out the 21 year old to Vitesse Arnhem.
The Ghana international has joined the West London side on a five year contract and moves to the Eredivisie side on season long loan spell joining fellow Chelsea players Patrick van Aanholt, Cristián Cuevas, Lucas Piazon and Gael Kakuta at Vitesse.
The adaptable attacker made 17 appearances in all competitions last term and becomes Chelsea’s fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Willian, Mark Schwarzer, Marco van Ginkel and Andre Schurrle.
Atsu moved to FC Porto as a 17 year old, impressing during a loan spell at Rio Ave, and joins compatriot at Michael Essien at Stamford Bridge.
One wonders how Atsu will push through the great number of quality players vying for a spot in Jose Mourinho’s first team set-up though a good spell on loan in Holland may help his cause.
