Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Liverpool have once again reiterated that star man Luis Suarez will not be allowed to leave Anfield under any circumstances in this transfer window, according to reports in the Metro.

The in-demand Uruguay international has been the subject of fevered speculation all summer long after initially claiming at the end of last season that the English press were driving him away from the Merseyside giants.

However, the 26-year-old then went on to say that he wanted to join a club competing in this season’s Uefa Champions League, with Arsenal going on to lodge two bids with the Reds for their front man, the second of which was valued at £40 million plus £1 which the north London club believed would be enough to activate a release clause in Suarez’s Liverpool contract.

But, that turned out not to be the case and with the Reds’ American owners the Fenway Sports Group having been adamant that the Uruguay attacker would not be allowed to quit the club whatever the offer on the table for his services this summer, it appeared as though the matter was dead.

That, though, was until rumours started circulating once again on Sunday night that Spanish giants Real Madrid were preparing a £45m offer for Suarez, only for Liverpool to respond to those stories by issuing an official statement on Monday saying: ”Luis will stay despite whatever offers may come.”
