Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has announced on Twitter that he will joining Everton on a season-long loan, Goal.com reports.

The striker was linked with a move back to West Brom, who had the Ivorian on loan last season, but Lukaku decided to join Everton.

“Signed @Everton on a season loan,” the Belgium international tweeted on his official Twitter account.

Lukaku is regarded as one of the best young strikers currently playing in the Premier League following his successful season with West Bromwich Albion during the last year’s Premier League campaign.

However, he hasn’t started any of Chelsea’s four games so far this season and following the arrival of Samuel Eto’o at Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho decided it would be better for Lukaku’s development if he went out on loan again.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been keen to bolster his attacking options this summer and made a move for Lukaku when it was announced that Demba Ba wouldn’t be allowed to join Arsenal.

Everton have had a busy transfer deadline day, bringing in Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy for around £12 million.

McCarthy is seen as a replacement for Marouane Fellaini, who joined Manchester United for £27.5 million.
