Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has revealed that in a poll conducted amongst the club’s fans 2% of them have claimed that they don’t want Lionel Messi in the team, the Daily Mail reports.

Since joining the club as a 13-year-old in 2000, he has gone on to bag 220 league goals in  just 248 appearances en route to winning six La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues trophies and the Spanish Cup, the European Super Cup and Club World Cup twice each.

He has already notched up five goals in two appearances this season as his domination of world football looks set to continue after slotting a hattrick in the recent 3-2 victory over Valencia after scoring twice in the opening day rout over Levante.

Considered by, well…almost everybody as the greatest player in the world right now, his efforts seemingly aren’t good enough for certain sections of the club’s support.

Rosell said: “In the club we do internal polling and there is two percent who do not like Messi. I would like to know these two percent.”

However, Rosell later went on to say that Messi is already forming a unique partnership with new boy Neymar.

The Brazilian joined Barcelona for £48.6million this summer and the pair are already striking up an understanding on the pitch. Rosell added: “Messi and Neymar are coming along very well. When I see them in the locker room they are getting on fantastically well.”
