AVB already looking at further midfield additions.
The transfer window may have only just closed but that hasn’t stopped Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas from planning for the next the one by targeting young Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to the Express.
Reports coming from France suggest that the White Heart Lane outfit are planning to keep a close eye on the 18-year-old’s development over the coming months with the hope of luring him to the Premier League in the January window or at the end of the season.
According to Le10Sport, the recent world record sale of Gareth Bale has the club planning for the future, and they want Rabiot to be a central part of it.
Earlier this summer Rabiot told the same publication it was far from certain that he would see out the season in the French capital, saying: “I feel the coach has confidence in me in training and I have a good feeling with him.
“But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stay in Paris this season.”
Rabiot spent the better part of last season on loan with fellow Ligue 1 side Toulouse, but he has hinted that another loan move does not appeal to him.
“I won’t go out on loan so I don’t know yet. Before I decide I intend to have a discussion with coach,” he added.
Chances for Rabiot at the Parc des Princes may be limited with their star studded line up, though Tottenham Hotspur recently performed a face lift on their own midfield this summer.
Rabiot featured in last weekend’s 2-0 victory over strugglers Guingamp, scoring the first of a late double to spare the Parisian’s blushes.
