Rosell doesn’t see Spain ‘keeper wearing Barca’s badge.Check in to Barcelona vs Sevilla
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has rubbished reports that the club may go in for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas by insisting that he will never see “Casillas wearing Barça’s badge on his chest,” according to Marca.
The Spain international has been unhappy recently after being left out of the starting line up in Madrid since breaking a finger in the middle of last season. Many thought that the exit of Jose Mourinho would see him restored to the starting line up, but he has faced an extended exile, which has caused speculation surrounding his future to grow.
However, Rosell sees many problems with making a signing such as this, and has quickly moved to rule it out.
“He is a Madrid symbol and I don’t see them signing Xavi, Iniesta, Messi or Piqué either.”
The Camp Nou supremo also went on to discuss the exit of former Real man Jose Mourinho this summer and his shock at his departure from their main rivals.
“His departure has reduced the tension that had built up, although he was funny with the comments he came out with.”
Rosell was also dismayed at the news that in a recent poll carried out by the club an astonishing 2% of fans didn’t want star man Lionel Messi at the club.
“Within the club we carry out internal surveys and two per cent do not want Messi.”
