Check in to Villarreal vs Real Madrid

The world’s most expensive player, Gareth Bale, has taken part in his first day of training with new club Real Madrid ahead of a possible debut with the Spanish giants this weekend, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The coveted Wales international finally completed his protracted £85m move from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to the Santiago Bernabeu on Sept 1, with the 24-year-old agreeing a bumper six-year deal worth a staggering 300,000 euros per week.

However, so far Bale has been unable to meet any of his Los Blancos team-mates due to the recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers that took place on Friday and Tuesday night.

But the wide man did eventually arrive at Madrid’s Valdebabas training base in the Spanish capital on Wednesday, and Bale was immediately greeted by the world’s previous most expensive player, Cristiano Ronaldo, with the pair enjoying a warm embrace in front of the cameras.

And Bale is now expected to finally make his long-awaited debut for Madrid in this Saturday’s tricky-looking La Liga encounter away at high-flying Villarreal, although the winger is set to begin that match on the substitutes’ bench after missing all of pre-season through injury.
