Chelsea new boy Samuel Eto’o has revealed that once upon a time he couldn’t stand Jose Mourinho and vowed to never play for him again, but club captain John Terry is glad he changed his mind, the Express reports.

Eto’o is expected to make his debut for the west London outfit this weekend in the trip to Everton after signing on for a one year deal from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

And he has admitted that he used to hate the Portuguese coach, even though he helped him to an historic treble whilst at Inter Milan.

“Before I played with him at Inter, our relationship was tense,” said Eto’o.

“I even said that I’d never play in a club where Jose is the coach.

“But I was wrong – and now he is my friend.”

The pair helped the Serie A giants to lift the league, Champions League and the Copa Italia in one monumental season back in 2010 and the 32-year-old will now get the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League for the first time.

And Chelsea captain John Terry has spoken out of his delight that the two have kissed and made up, having said that he is relieved to be able to line up alongside him rather than against him.

“I said to him ‘thank God you’re here’ because I’ve had so many battles against him,” said Terry.

“He’s such a threat, he’s obviously a few years older but he still looks very sharp and hungry.

“He’s got an eye for goal and I think he’ll be a good addition, he was welcomed straight into the squad.”

However, Terry has also called for patience from the stands as he believes that both Eto’o and Willian will need time to adjust to the rigours of playing in the Premier League.

“Eto’o has looked really sharp in training so far, and so has Willian,” Terry added.

“You speak to them and they talk about how the intensity of their training (in Russia) is a lot different to how it is here.

“So for sure it will take them a few weeks to get their full fitness, but once they do they’ll both look very good.”
