The Lancashire Hotpot is back early on this season and will see high flying Burnley looking to keep up the pace at the top of the Championship by getting one over their local rivals for the first time in 34 years.
Burnley are chasing a sixth win from their eighth league and cup match of the season. And they could be set to hand a debut to recently arrived loanee Michael Kightly following the winger’s move from Stoke City.
Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes is likely to be fit to start but will have to be fitted with a plaster cast for his broken hand whilst Lee Williamson will also return to be in contention.
However, popular midfielder David Dunn is likely to miss the next couple of weeks with a knee injury so Rovers will have to do without him for the time being.
Three points will give Blackburn three victories in a row and their longest single-season winning league sequence since securing four on the bounce in October 2007.
Rovers are currently sat in 11th place in the Championship table.
