Having sold star player Erik Lamela to Tottenham for £30m this summer, Roma could now look to reinvest that money in some squad players from the north London side, according to talkSPORT.

Supposedly, manager Rudi Garcia is looking into the double signing of midfield pair Lewis Holtby and Sandro, who both face a real fight for a place in Andre Villas-Boas’ starting lineup this season after so many new arrivals at White Hart Lane during the summer transfer window.

Holtby only arrived at the club himself in January after impressing hugely for Bundesliga side Schalke, though he has not managed to establish himself as a regular for Tottenham in the Premier League, leading to speculation that his old side may look to take him back just a year later.

Sandro, meanwhile, has had numerous problems with injuries over the years, and now faces more competition from the likes of Moussa Dembele and new signings Paulinho and Etienne Capoue at Spurs.

Roma had much of their top talent raided this summer, with Marquinhos joining PSG and top-scorer Pablo Osvaldo leaving for Southampton, giving them plenty of room for improvement in their squad, and a good deal of money with which to do that.
