Chilean ace to get a huge increase.Check in to Inter Milan vs Juventus

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is set to sign a new contract with the club after the Bianconeri offered him a lucrative two-year extension, Sky Sports reports.

The Chilean international turned down advances from Real Madrid over the summer and is expected to put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the Serie A champions before the end of the month.

“Vidal arrived in Turin and the move was met with some scepticism,” Juventus club administrator Giuseppe Marotta said to Tuttosport. “But he has done very well and now he should be rewarded.

“There have been big clubs in Europe interested in him, but in the coming weeks, his contract will be prolonged and economically adequate.”

The 26-year-old’s current deal expires in 2016 and Juve are keen to tie him down for longer after a host of European clubs have shown an interest in his signature following his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.

His new contract will see his wages increase to five million euros per year.

Meanwhile, Vidal’s teammate Martin Caceres will be out for some time after undergoing surgery on his right knee after tearing his meniscus during Uruguay’s World Cup qualifier with Peru at the weekend.

A statement from the club read: “Martin Caceres underwent an MRI scan which confirmed a torn external meniscus on his right knee. Caceres will undergo arthroscopic surgery in the Fornaca Clinic.”
