Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino has no fresh injury concerns to trouble him ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Ham and is likely to continue with pairing England international Rickie Lambert and record signing Daniel Osvaldo in attack.
West Ham were hit by the news this week that their record purchase Andy Carroll is likely to be out until the new year and is currently in Switzerland seeing a specialist about his long standing heel injury.
New signing Mladen Petric is not yet match fit after only signing on earlier this week, whilst Joe Cole, Stuart Downing and George McCartney are all missing through injury.
This is the 98th meeting between the sides, Southampton have won 32, West Ham 37 and there have been 28 draws.
However, West Ham boss Sam Allardyce will fancy his chances as he is unbeaten in nine Premier League meetings with Southampton (W3 D6).
They will need to step their game up, though, as they have had just five shots on target in total in their three matches so far, and managed zero against Stoke in their last game.
