Emirates Stadium side look to conduct second successful Bernabeu swoop.
Arsenal are reportedly plotting another Bernabeu raid as Arsene Wenger looks to lure German international Sami Khedira to the Emirates Stadium according to Italian source TuttoMercato.
The North London club pulled off perhaps the coup of the summer by landing Khedira’s former team-mate, and national team-mate, Mesut Ozil and Wenger may feel that he can repeat the trick as the tough tackling midfielder continues to shun fresh contract talks.
The 26 year old has started two of Real Madrid’s four La Liga games thus far this season with new signing Asier Illarramendi perhaps leaving Khedira fearing for his long term future at the club, not least as Xabi Alonso will provide further competition for places when he returns from injury.
Though Wenger brought Mathieu Flamini back to the club to help provide some much needed midfield steel the Gunners boss may feel that Khedira would be a better long term option in relation to the need to bring in players who can provide protection for his creative talents.
Khedira has made 81 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid since joining the club from Stuttgart back in July 2010, of which 20 were from the bench.
