Gareth Bale certainly made an impact in his debut as the world’s most expensive player this weekend by notching his first goal for Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants were held by Villarreal to a 2-2 draw and Bale’s goal in the 39th minute of the first half put his new side on level terms.
Not the kind of finish the Welshman is particularly known for, but they all count, as they say, and he’ll be delighted to have opened his account already.
