St James’ Park side target Carrow Road winger.
Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on Norwich City winger Anthony Pilkington according to TuttoMercato.
Alan Pardew may be keen to strengthen his attack and a move to St James’ Park could tempt the Canaries wide-man, who has seen his first team chances at Carrow Road reduced following the arrival of many summer signings.
The 25 year old has managed just 17 minutes of top tier action thus far this term, this after two solid campaigns during which the former Huddersfield Town man had netted 13 goals in 48 Premier League starts.
In contrast to Norwich City’s busy summer of transfer activity the Magpies failed to spend a single penny on new additions, this despite the return of Joe Kinnear as Director of Football.
Prior to his move to Norwich City Pilkington has impressed at Stockport County and the aforementioned Terriers and the form shown by the former Man United youth team player in recent seasons has also helped to secure international recognition with the Republic of Ireland.
