Emirates Stadium side plot big money move for Old Trafford forward.
Arsenal are reportedly ready to move back in for Man United striker Wayne Rooney following the star’s non-committal post match interview last night according to Sports Direct News.
The 27 year old England international netted twice against Bayer Leverkusen to take his Man United to 200 and this will apparently lead to Arsene Wenger to launch a £35m bid for Rooney, who has been the Gunners boss’s number one striker target for some months.
Rooney is into the final two years of his current deal and the longer he goes without penning a new deal the more likely interest in his services will increase.
When asked after his Champions League display last night about whether he had asked for a transfer in the summer Rooney abruptly responded by stating;
“Listen, I am glad to be playing football again.”
This has led to speculation that all is not well in the Rooney camp, despite his recent good run of form.
Arsenal proved they have the ability to snap up big money signings following their £42m capture of Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil but arguably the more urgent need was the addition of further striking options, this has become all the more evident following the long term injury suffered by Lukas Podolski.
Though Olivier Giroud has started the season well the North London club will struggle for goals if they lose the Frenchman for a prolonged period of time with a distinct lack of experienced options available to the Emirates Stadium side.
