Anfield side target White Hart Lane bit-part player.
Liverpool are readying an official bid for Tottenham attack Gylfi Sigurdsson according to Sports Direct News.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to reunite with his former Swansea City charge and even though the Icelandic international grabbed a brace against Norwich City last weekend it is entirely plausible that the 24 year old would consider a move to the Merseyside club.
Though Gareth Bale has been sold there are a number of new additions who could push the former Hoffenheim man down the White Hart Lane pecking order, perhaps most specifically Nacer Chadli or Erik Lamela in wide roles or Danish youngster Christian Eriksen in an attacking midfield role that Sigurdsson can also fill.
Tottenham spent £8.8m to bring Sigurdsson to the club last summer but the adaptable attacker only managed to notch up 12 Premier League starts last term whilst he was used an astonishing 27 times from the bench in all competitions.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has brought in a number of summer additions but could be all the more likely to consider a move for Sigurdsson following the lengthy spell out Brazilian youngster Coutinho looks set for following a shoulder injury.
