Atletico Madrid star signs new contract, but still keen on move to England.
The agent of Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan has not ruled out a move for his client to the Premier League in the future, according to talkSPORT.
The 26-year-old has been a key player for Diego Simeone’s side in recent seasons, and the Spanish club will be delighted to have tied him down to a new contract amid interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool this summer.
Turan has now committed to the club until 2017, and has spoken of his personal joy at remaining with Atletico, where he says he feels part of a family at the club.
“I am delighted to have signed a contract extension with Atletico Madrid. I feel like I’m part of a family here,” he said.
However, his agent has hinted that the Premier League is still on the agenda for Turan, whose signing of a new contract has seen his buy-0ut clause with the club rise to over £30m, which may be a ploy simply to make more money out of his sale if top English clubs come calling for the Turkish international again.
“Arsenal and Liverpool? A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned,” his agent said.
Manchester United and Chelsea were also linked with an interest in Turan, though Atletico will be delighted to have held on to such a key player this season after losing Radamel Falcao to Monaco in the summer.
