Old Trafford star looks close to agreeing a new deal.
Man United striker Wayne Rooney is apparently edging closer to putting pen to paper on a new deal according to the Independent.
The Old Trafford club are confident that any grievances between Rooney and boss David Moyes have been dealt with and that their relationship is now as strong as ever following an extended run in the first team for the England international, which has led to the 27 year old netting three goals in his last two appearances.
There had been much speculation over Rooney’s future over the summer but despite genuine interest from Chelsea the former Everton man remains at the Premier League title holders and racked up his 200th goal for the club against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night and appears to be getting back into his best form and proving that he can form a potent partnership with Robin Van Persie in the Man United attack.
Rooney has just under two years to run on his current contract and Man United will be keen to tie down the forward to a new deal before next summer when his valuation could have substantially reduced.
