Hulk Happy At Zenit St Petersburg

Brazilian striker finally feels settled.

Brazilian international striker has said that he now finally feels settled at the club despite the constant speculation surrounding his future, Sky Sports reports.

The goalscoring strong man was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur the favourites to land his signature having been on his trail ever since he made the move to the Russian Premier League outfit.

No deal to bring him to England could be struck, though, as Zenit demanded far too much money and even priced other clubs out of a loan move for the Selecao star.

For now then, Hulk remains in Russia – where he has spent the past 12 months after completing a big-money switch from Porto.

Many had raised eyebrows over his decision to join Zenit in the first place, and rumours of the 27-year-old being unhappy due to abuse from the stands and alienation from the rest of his teammates have abounded ever since he left Portugal. However, he has insisted that he has settled in his new surroundings and is feeling much happier for it.

“I feel free in myself here,” he told reporters.

“We can walk in the local parks with my wife and children without any kind of pressure from journalists or football fans. There are Brazilian restaurants here, but we also enjoy Russian cuisine.

“The only thing which caused me some discomfort was the cold weather in winter. But the city looks beautiful in winter when everything is covered with snow.”
