Old Trafford side to launch ambitious Bundesliga raid.
Man United are readying a move to sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus according to Sports Direct News.
Reus had an excellent first season at the Westfalenstadion, scoring 19 goals and helping Jurgen Klopp’s side to the Champions League final in the process, and now David Moyes will reportedly challenge Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to land the 24 year old.
Moyes wants to strengthen his squad in January having made just one high profile signing of note over the summer, that of Belgian Marouane Fellaini, though one wonders if Reus is even considering leaving Borussia Dortmund, regardless of the level of clubs chasing his signature.
This source cites the lack of effective wide attacking options in his Man United squad as a motivating factor in Moyes’s pursuit of the former Borussia Monchengladbach man, with Ashley Young certainly failing to make an impact this term.
There is also the suggestion that Klopp could consider using Man United’s interest in Reus as a way of luring back former player Shinji Kagawa, who has been little more than a member of the Premier League club’s supporting cast since he moved to the club last summer.
However whilst such a swap offer would make sense for Man United it’s unclear why such a deal would tempt Dortmund given the excellent form shown by the intelligent German international.
