Juventus are hoping to beat Liverpool and two Russian clubs to the signing of talented Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lacina Traore, according to talkSPORT.

The Ivory Coast international is in high demand after Anzhi started a fire-sale of their top earners this summer after running into sudden financial problems, which also saw key duo Willian and Samuel Eto’o both move to Chelsea.

Traore is another of the side’s top players who looks destined for big things in the game, and it is understood that Liverpool represent his biggest admirers in the Premier League at the moment.

However, Juventus are keen to strengthen upfront this January and may look to push to the front of the queue for his signature, particularly with the possibility that Fernando Llorente may leave the club in the middle of the season after growing unhappy with life in Turin.

Traore scored 17 goals for the Russian side last season, and is also wanted by Anzhi’s rivals CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg, with his strength, technique and considerable height making him an in-demand young prospect.

Still only 23, Traore has four goals in six caps for the Ivory Coast national team and is a powerful presence at 6 ft 8.
