Former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou says he would be open to playing in the Premier League again in the future, according to talkSPORT.

The Ivory Coast international spent six years at Stamford Bridge between 2006 and 2012, winning four FA Cups, the Premier League and the Champions League, before moving to Ligue 1 side Lille last summer.

Kalou was not always a regular during his time at Chelsea, though his performances in France have seen him linked with a return to these shores with Arsenal or Cardiff City in recent times.

The versatile attacker scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists for Lille last season, and the 28-year-old is a vastly experienced player with 21 goals in 57 caps for the Ivory Coast national team.

Although Kalou would not rule out a return to England, and revealed that several clubs pursued him during the summer, he insists that for the moment he is happy to remain at his current club.

“Who knows? I may come back to England,” Kalou is quoted as saying in Le Parisien.

“Several clubs already contacted me this summer. At the moment, I am pleased at Lille.”

Kalou started his senior career with Dutch side Feyenoord, emerging as one of the best young prospects in Europe at the time, though he never truly fulfilled his potential during his time with Chelsea.
