Liverpool have received a massive boost after controversial front man Luis Suarez confirmed that he would be giving his all for the Merseyside giants between now and the end of the season following the Uruguayan’s long-awaited comeback to the first team against Manchester United on Wednesday night, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old lined up in attack for the Reds for the first time in 157 days in the club’s Capital One Cup third-round tie against the Red Devils at Old Trafford after the end of Suarez’s ten-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield last April.

And Suarez was once again the stand-out performer on the pitch for the visitors, who lost the match 1-0 following Javier Hernandez’s strike early in the second half.

However, after the full-time whistle Suarez spoke to Liverpool’s official website and while disappointed that his side had been eliminated by their arch rivals from one of only two cup competitions they are taking part in this season, the Uruguay international was still happy to be back playing for the club after such a long absence.

Meanwhile Suarez also vowed to do everything in his powers between now and next May to help propel the Reds into the top four of the Premier League, saying: “The result is not good because we lost but the feeling is good because we played very well, we created chances and we missed.

“I know it was a difficult moment but for myself and for the team it’s very important I’m back because I can help the team and [being] off the pitch I can’t. We’ll keep going for the week and for the next game.

“All the time I try my best on the pitch. I’m here to help the team and help Liverpool and I’ll try my best.”
