Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf has insisted that he is happy at the club and enjoying life in the Bundesliga following speculation linking him with a move back to England over the summer, Sky Sports reports.

The Senegalese international is out of contract with the club at the end of the season and he had been the subject of some heavy speculation over the summer months. Continued speculation has suggested that interest in his signature is still rampant, and Hannover general manager Dirk Dufner admitted earlier this week there were currently no talks over a new deal.

Diouf has mostly kept quiet over what his future may hold he has said that his decision to join the club has been the best of his career and remains happy where he is for now.

“I am under contract with Hannover and I like being at the club,” the Senegal international told kicker-Sportmagazin.

“Hanover is a good place to be. I feel signing for Hannover was the best thing I ever did in my life.”

Hannover chairman Martin Kind remains optimistic that a deal can be agreed to keep Diouf at the club.

“Mame Biram Diouf is an excellent player for Hannover,” said Kind.

“He has already shown how important he is for our club. We will hopefully be able to keep him at our club.”
