White Hart Lane side ready Nou Camp raid.
Tottenham are reportedly weighing up a move for Barcelona defender Marc Bartra according to Sports Direct News.
The North London side made a move for the 22 year old last summer but the Nou Camp side were unwilling to sell the centre-back as they felt they have very few options in their defensive armoury. However Bartra is now into the final year of his contract and seemingly unwilling to put pen to paper on a new deal, leaving many to believe that the former Spanish Under 21 international is likely to leave the Catalan giants.
Barcelona are apparently ready to listen to offers of £5.3m for Bartra, knowing that come next summer they will see the one club man leave on a free transfer, and that’s a fee that Andre Villas-Boas is ready to stump up as he looks to strengthen this back-line.
Despite the fact that Gerardo Martino has very few central defensive options to select from, with Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol being his only senior out and out centre-backs, Bartra has managed just 67 minutes of first team football in all competitions and his reticence at signing a new deal stems from that lack of action and therefore a move to the Premier League may well tempt the rangy defender.
