Arsenal are one of a host of club’s said to be ‘hovering’ around West Brom striker Saido Berahino who according to the Daily Mail could be available for as little as £300k next summer.

The 20 year old Burundi born striker has impressed many since breaking into the Baggies first team this term, scoring five goals in all competitions thus far this season, including a quality strike against Man United on the weekend.

However the young forward’s contract is up at the end of the season and though West Brom are likely to offer Berahinho a new deal, one that will surely dwarf his current £850 a week deal, boss Steve Clarke will have to fight off the likes of Arsenal and Everton.

Berahino has also scored twice in his two England Under 21 international appearances and is clearly a player with a bright future and the West Brom man may have to think long and hard before committing to a new deal this summer.

Though Arsenal have a number of top young talents coming through their academy arguably they do not possess a great many starlet strikers who look anywhere near making the grade, bar perhaps Chuba Akpom, and given that Arsene Wenger’s current first team attacking options are fairly thin on the ground a move for Berahino could be a smart one to consider.
