Arsenal are ready to step up pursuit of Juventus youngster Paul Pogba with a £20m bid for the French international in the offing according to Sports Direct News.
Juventus are set to double the former Man United’s man’s salary from £800k a year to £1.6m and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will look to offer incentives to the 20 year old to consider a move back to the Premier League.
It is however hard to imagine why the rangy battler would want to leave Juventus given the success he’s had since moving to Turin last July.
In his first campaign at the Serie A club he helped the ‘Old Lady’ of Italian football to a domestic title, appearing in 28 of the Juventus’s 38 fixtures. The youngster has continued to impress during the current campaign and Arsenal representatives were in the stands yesterday as Pogba struck the only goal of the game to help his side clinch victory against local rivals Torino.
Though Mathieu Flamini was brought in on a free transfer to offer some grit to balance out the abundance of creativity in the Arsenal midfield Pogba arguably offers a more complete package. Compared by some to former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira the young Juventus man offers a great deal going forward as well as offering a stern the North London club a stern midfield tackling presence.
