Check in to Manchester City vs Everton

New Galatasaray head coach Roberto Mancini is planning to raid the Premier League for possible new signings when the transfer window finally reopens for business for the year in January, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The former Manchester City boss was confirmed as the Turkish champions’ new boss on Monday, with the Italian agreeing a three-year contract worth £5 million-a-season to succeed Fatih Terim in Istanbul.

And already Mancini is said to be drawing up a short list of potential new recruits from the English top flight for the new year, and the recently appointed Gala trainer is believed to definitely be eyeing up at least one of his former players at Eastlands.

Either way, the one-time Fiorentina, Lazio and Inter Milan coach will be given the financial backing to help boost the Turkish giants’ current disappointing league position, with Galatasary languishing down in tenth place in the table at present.

Meanwhile, Mancini also takes his struggling outfit to Turin on Wednesday night to face Serie A champions Juventus in their second group stage fixture, having been thrashed 6-1 at home in their opening encounter by Spanish giants Real Madrid.

“Mancini has the full backing of the Galatasaray directors in the transfer policy. If I get instructions from Galatasaray then I will bring them a world-class player,” confirmed Muzzi Ozcan, the man who sealed Mancini’s move to Gala in the first place.
