Newcastle could be successful in securing the signing of Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha on loan this January, with Goal.com reporting that the England international would favour a switch to St James’ Park.

The 20-year-old has barely featured for United since moving from Crystal Palace in the summer, though he is still a highly rated prospect in the game after his dazzling displays for Palace at Championship level.

Ian Holloway had hoped to bring Zaha back to Selhurst Park on loan this season, only for United to reject the London club’s offer, but it now seems possible that David Moyes would be happy to loan the youngster out as he has failed to work his way into his first-team plans.

The likes of Swansea, Stoke City and West Brom are also all keen on signing Zaha, but it is understood that the man himself favours a movr to Newcastle, where he may be required to replace Hatem Ben Arfa, who is stalling on a new contract offer from the club.

This has seen Alan Pardew’s side linked with several wingers ahead of the next transfer window, such as exciting Blackpool starlet Tom Ince, though a loan move would be favourable for the north-east outfit.
