Tottenham will hope to fight off interest from Serie A as they look to win the race to sign in-demand Blackpool starlet Tom Ince this January, according to the London Evening Standard.

The 21-year-old winger is rated as one of the best players in the country currently playing outside of the Premier League, and Spurs will hope to bring him to the top flight with a bid of around £4m when the transfer window re-opens.

The likes of Newcastle and Everton have also been linked with Ince in recent times, as it looked like he might move during the summer, but Spurs now seem ready to step up their interest as three clubs from Italy continue to monitor him as well.

Serie A champions Juventus, as well as Napoli and Inter Milan are all keen to tempt Ince into a move abroad, and his father Paul, former England captain, also had a spell in Italy with Inter between 1995 and 1997.

Tottenham spent over £100m in recruiting new players during the summer, and look set to continue their ambitious transfer plans again in January, with Ince looking a great prospect for the future, and a player who could make an immediate impact on the flanks for Andre Villas-Boas’ side.
