Luis Suarez Wants Real Madrid Over Arsenal, Claims Uruguayan Team-Mate

Real Madrid is Suarez’s dream move according to fellow countryman.Liverpool star Luis Suarez is desperate to fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid, says his Uruguayan team-mate Edinson Cavani, the Daily Mail reports.

The 26-year-old Reds forward had been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal for much of the summer, and was reportedly keen on a move to play in the Champions League, which Liverpool cannot currently offer.

However, his fellow countryman Cavani believes he is not fixated on joining Arsenal, but would rather seal a dream move to Spanish giants Real Madrid instead, and has suggested that if Real had shown a stronger interest this summer they may have signed him.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side, however, were primarily focused on signing Gareth Bale from Tottenham, but may now move for Suarez when the transfer window re-opens in January, as they eye him up as a potential replacement for out-of-favour French striker Karim Benzema.

Cavani himself made a big move from Napoli to PSG this summer, and has hinted that Suarez could do the same soon.

“I think Arsenal was not Luis’s dream move,” he said. “Maybe if it had been Real Madrid then it would have been a different outcome – but of course Madrid were concentrating on a different target this summer.

“It is his dream club – and a club he thinks is worth waiting for.”

The PSG star also praised Suarez as one of the best and most complete forwards in the world, and is not surprised to see him continue his fine form for Liverpool.

“It is no surprise to me at all that Luis has come back for Liverpool and is scoring goals right away,” he added.

“He is the most complete striker in England – and one of the most complete strikers in the world. Ability and confidence is no issue for him, he will score a lot of goals this season I am sure.”
