Arsenal are readying a January move for in-form FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez, with Napoli also taking an interest, according to TuttoMercato.

The Primeira Liga side are thought to be ready to listen to offers of around £32m for the Colombian with FC Porto being well known for selling off their top performers for big profits. Radamel Falcao and Hulk, two other South American strikers, were sold by the club to Atletico Madrid and Zenit St Petersburg respectively and Martinez could well be the next to leave the Estadio Dragao.

With Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski being used in wide roles and also having injury concerns Arsene Wenger relies heavily on French forward Olivier Giroud and having forked out £42.5m to bring in German Mesut Ozil it’s clear that the North London club are more than willing to splash the cash.

By January if the Gunners are still riding high in major competitions then a move for 27 year old Martinez would be all the more likely.

Since moving to Portugal the rangy forward has been a massive success scoring 37 goals in 46 appearances and helping his side to the domestic title last term.
